Survey 6 Results

Happy (almost) Spring Break!

Conclusions:

  • Dr. Hake and Dr. Roberts both have great beards.
    • Guys prefer Dr. Robert's beard by a hair (:-P)
    • Girls love Dr. Hake's beard, and are also pretty impressed by Dr. Favelo's.
  • Assuming Monday night is a representative sample, thirty percent of PHC students get 5 hours or less of sleep each night. Only 20% get the recommended 8hrs.
    • This pattern stays relatively constant for both guys and girls.
    • Sophomores and Juniors are the most likely to get less than 4 hours of sleep.
    • Sophomores and Freshmen are the most likely to get 8 or more hours.
    • It get's better after graduation; 100% of Alumni report more than 6 hours and 50% more than 8 hours.
  • POTUS in 2040-264? Carrillo, Meadows, Cheatwood. Yeah, I could live with that. :)
  • Forty percent of students say an engagement ring should cost $500-$1500. (National average, BTW, is about $2000.)
    • Girls are twice as likely as guys to say that it's okay for an engagement ring to be less than $500.
    • "Other" answers include: Family Heirloom, Two months wages, 5%-10% of income, "0_o", and "Depends on how much the Girl is worth" (Yes, find that guy in the junior class and slap him.)
  • There is high interest in learning Waltz. Lowest interest was for Cha Cha.
  • One third of students think they are more intelligent than their roommate(s).
    • Assuming that the average room consists of three people, and one person is the most intelligent, this would statistically be an accurate representation which means PHC students are pretty realistic here.
    • Guys are slightly more likely to think of themselves as more intelligent.
    • There is no statistically significant difference between Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors in relative intelligence perception. Whatever we were taught about respecting your elders seems to have been lost in the dorms ;)
  • About 70 percent of guys almost always wash their hands with soap after using the restroom. Disturbingly, 13.8% wash their hands less often than not.
  • Most PHC students were saved before they were six years old.
    • There are two survey participants who selected "I am not a Christian."
  • Nearly half of girls touch up their makeup once a day. One quarter apply makeup but don't touch it up throughout the day. One in five girls will touch up her makeup more than once a day.
  • Chocolate chip cookies are the favorite, but Caramel Apple were the surprise second finish after a strong write-in campaign. (Sorry guys, I forgot to include them as an option.)
    • Guys like chocolate chip (about 30% say it's the favorite), girls love chocolate chip (More than 50% say it's the favorite).
    • Guys are ten times more likely to like Snickerdoodles than girls.
That's it! Enjoy the results!
